Criado pelo Adobe Labs, o Kuler funciona da seguinte forma: Você cria (depois de estar devidamente registrado no site) uma composição de 5 cores a partir de um gráfico espectral; ou através de códigos hexadecimais; ou através de codificação CMYK; ou RGB. Criada e salva a composição, estará disponível para classificação dos usuários do site: Ou seja, uma clasificação popular das composições mais apreciadas pelos usuários - designers gráficos, digitais, programadores, artistas, ilustradores, etc, de todo o mundo. Pra ajudar, cada composição possui uma tagcloud, indicando os termos mais próximos às cores. Ótima ferramenta para seleção de cores. Quem vai achar outras funções para o Kuler?

kuler is the first web-hosted application from Adobe Labs designed both to stand alone and to complement Adobe® Creative Suite® software. Built using Adobe® Flash® and ActionScript 3.0, kuler is all about color: color for exploration, inspiration, experimentation and sharing.

New in kuler are RSS feeds of the most popular, highest rated and newest color themes, an Apple Dashboard widget to subscribe to these feeds, UI enhancements requested by the kuler community, and new desktop patterns based on our highest rated themes.

kuler now provides a direct link to Adobe Creative Suite 3 family of software. A panel in Adobe Illustrator CS3, built entirely in Adobe Flash, provides direct access to the kuler online community from the desktop and from the desktop to the kuler online community. Follow these steps to get started with kuler:

1. Go to kuler. kuler will automatically ensure that you have the latest version of the Flash Player installed.
2. While anyone can access kuler without any additional requirements, the ability to save, tag, and download color themes requires an Adobe ID. This is the same ID used on the Adobe Store and here on Adobe Labs. If you need to create an Adobe ID, click on the “Register” link on the kuler home page. Otherwise, just sign in with your existing Adobe ID.
3. View the kuler Terms of Use and the Adobe Privacy Policy.

Note: This is a technology preview, not a final release. Neither the quality nor the features are complete yet. We want to show you our direction and get your feedback so that we can incorporate it into future releases.
